At the end of November we started our E.C.C.O. (Education, Conservation, and Community Opportunities) Leadership Program. We have 21 teens, ages 13 – 18 that participate in twice weekly workshops in the evening.
The major focus of this program is to inspire teens to be conservation leader’s in their community. Some of the things we do in the program include team building activities, handling education animals, making diets for the animals and learning about what the Zoo does to help wildlife! The culmination of the program which will take place in April during our “Party for the Planet” event on April 20, when teens will convey the information they have learned in the program to Zoo visitors.
Are you a teen interested in this program? While we are not accepting any more teens this year, please be sure to check out the link below for our summer ZooTeens Program, and be sure to look into our E.C.C.O Leadership Program for next year.
